some outfit posts...

I'm all done with trying to add classes, the first week of school was gruesome as the same with schools everywhere, but that's all done with.  All my planned schedules are in place, text books purchased, dug out calculators, bought voice recorder, purchased parking permits,  Now let's see if I will be able to grapple with managerial accounting, precalculus, statistics, finish my college recital and teach all that piano students.  I actually like getting up early in the morning when the cool air smells so fresh, the street lights are still shining and the sky is somewhat blue. Few times when I was stuck in the elevator at 6:45 in the morning with a bunch of fresh out of high school kids I couldn't help but wondering what the heck I was doing here, but those thoughts went away as quickly as they came, and soon as I stepped in the classroom door no more room was left for any second thoughts.

School started this week and I have been getting up at 5 am everyday instead of ten, three days later I'm already tired, but thank goodness after the first week things will settle down a little bit and I will have nothing else to worry about except studying for my classes.
Last night I dined out at a restaurant with yummy eats, but sadly they were very empty.

and FOUND!

what a relief! I felt so silly now, this whole time my precious ring was tucked under a stuffed animal's belly(one of Kelly's toys) on my desk, and I moved it several times but didn't see it. I'd turned my house inside out, dug out all the closets and drawers and searched every pocket and handbags and pulled out my mattress and moved my bed! and it was on my desk!
It was just a ring one can say, but when I wore it for over a year almost every single day, it is not just a ring anymore, sort of become an essential part of me.  A handmade silver ring with some kind of quartz is so inexpensive compare to one made of gold and diamond, but I guess there are things even money can't buy, appreciations and attachment I suppose? What a lucky day this has been!
a package arrived today with lovely vintage jewelry. I will be wearing the necklaces in the summer, and brooches will go with winter coats, so pretty.
I'm doing some major cleaning at home today to get ready for school next week.  As my day will become a little more structured, my brain is becoming functioning again.  I'm making other plans, such as things that I want to do this year,
1. trip to London and Paris.
2. save up for a place of my own.
3. practice piano everyday, finish piano recital, and learn some new program
4. go to concerts and opera more often
5. hike more often.
6. cook more often.
7. take photography class
7. at least read a book every month, ( I'm ashamed to admit that I hardly read at all last year)
8. knit a sweater.
9. learn to speak French
10. continue being a non-tv watcher.
11. throw away all my uncomfortable clothes, including high heel shoes.
12. buy no more handbag this year. ( I have enough to last me ten life time)

to be continued, when I can think of more... :)

lost

I love this ring but I tend to loose rings that I like the most. So sad, ah well.
I went through a lot of trouble taking Kelly to the dog beach, the result? She hated it, and while all the other dogs were running along the ocean or simply running toward it, she ran away from the water and held on to the towel the whole time like a life boat.

breakfast out with friend. this is my last vacation week, going back to school next week.

Valentine's day was dinner and gondola ride with two gondoliers. We love Valentine's Day very much,  because on this day we would like to fool ourselves into thinking that all the world evolved around us, for example all the shops that hung out little red hearts on their window, the cook that prepared our delicious dinner, the waiter that served us at the restaurant, the Jazz musician, the gondolier that worked way too hard for our ride, and not to forget the flower shop that opened late hoping for some extra business, so no no, it's not a commercialized holiday, it's a day when the world worked hard to Jazz up the atmosphere for lovers to enjoy this special moment. =)

I know I've had lots of food posts lately, but I still have to squeeze in a couple more for the Valentine's Day weekend.

It was too nice out to be staying home so I paid a visit with bf to Huntington garden and afterwards recovered the long walk with a old-fashioned chocolate cake and a homemade beef stew dinner.

New Year Preparation

I always like to do a bit of preparation at the end of each year to welcome the new year, although this year things were very challenging, I...
