I got some eggs ready for this little sunshine in the morning:)

This lovely home in Westwood is for sale, it made me dream of moving back to LA again. Architecturally  everything is my taste and all that needs changing is different set of furniture.

It seems like there will be enough room for my grand piano and plenty of books too! It would be lovely to practice the piano while looking out into a gorgeous garden!

So, please check it out here, we don't always have a few million dollars laying around, but one can dream right?

I bought this cart from IKEA to use as a stationary caddy. It freed up my desk space and is so super cute!

Have you been to Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Height? It's such a beautiful place, my friend and I visit there monthly and it's always such a good experience!

After that we went for antique shopping and had ice cream made with liquid nitrogen, it was such a fun day!

I have a dislike for Halloween decorations, but I love fall decorations and I usually go straight for it. I think it makes perfect sense to decorate your home and have it last at least a couple of month before Christmas!  Last year was quite a sad year as I was going through my fireplace reconstruction and did not get a chance to do any decorating, so this year I had to make up for it! So, what do you think? It's definitely screaming Fall and not very subtle, but these little things made me happy and they will do for now!

I bought these Bakelite bracelets a few months back, and I wear them from time to time. Personally I love these elastic bracelets , they are so funky and cheery at the same time. If I could help it, I'd like to have  different ones to wear my out fit with everyday.

I made plans to read these three Faulkner novels in the next few weeks. These were renewed edition by the writer himself from 1959.   We are at the hottest month of the year again, it has been heat wave after  heart wave for the past two weeks here. A few days ago my neighborhood had a power outage because everyone was blasting  their AC. All of a sudden for several hours I did not have access to computer or tv,  I didn't even have any light, so I lit a candle and made myself a simple dinner and ate while reading a book. It was the most blissfully quiet evening I've had in years, no background noise from any device, it was so relaxing and I enjoyed a good read and had a very good evening. It made me think how easily my quality of life could be improved if I just read a good book and stay off electronics for a while!

For the past year or two I have been a amateur vintage purse collector. The internet is quite amazing for this sort of things, it's unbelievable what treasure you can come across upon from time to time.  I know my collection is quite modest and these purses are common place everywhere, but just the fact that some of them are over half a century old and were made well before I was born was enough fascination for me! I haul around a big Marc Jacobs bag for work everywhere and it barely has enough room for all my makeup bag, cell phone, notes, keys and wallet. How did ladies back in the day carry around such dainty purses is a mystery to me...

I stumbled upon By Gum, By Golly recently and have been enjoying reading it.

I love reading about other people's projects and creations, it brings me so much inspiration! The beautiful colors are also a feast for the eye! If you haven't been reading her blog already, definite check it out!

These flowers continued to bloom, I've been throughly enjoying this small luxury!

These lilies tempted me at the grocery store, they bloomed even more after I got them home and smells amazing!

I stayed home today to give my whole house a good cleaning, and  decided to display my vintage brooches instead of tugging them away in drawers!

Later I invited a friend over for dinner and wine. She brought over her granddoghter for a play date with my doggies. Her name is Luna, and for the first time in her life she saw other dogs in the same house, she screamed and tried to run away at first, but at the end of day she was playing with everyone:)

I've got a soft spot for vintage brooches, I picked these up today at the antique mall near my house, deeply discounted for what it is, the butterscotch bakelite brooch was only$20!

New Year Preparation

I always like to do a bit of preparation at the end of each year to welcome the new year, although this year things were very challenging, I...
