The Secret in Their Eyes

I really wanted to see a movie last night and sure enough there was a good one worth watching.
I made another attempt at blueberry pancakes this morning and they turned out really well. I think the key is to keep the temperature consistent and it does take a couple of practices. During the day bf and I attended the book festival that took place in UCLA. It was fun to walk around all the booth and attend speaker sessions.

come April, my shopping bug is waking up for spring!
I had a delicious mini red velvet cup cake but Kelly stole it from me right under my eyes. :(
hanging out with Kelly and out for a Friday night dinner.  This has somehow turned into a food blog.

Back to life in LA again. Last night was spent attending a wonderful concert by my college friend and afterwards hanging out at a cute cafe.

I'm back home and missing having a vacation already...
All the wine tasting and talks of paring with what kind of food earlier in the afternoon really made us hungry, so we had early dinner in Napa, how could you go to Napa and not eat there anyway? This restaurant is called Angeli, the food seems plain but don't let that deceive you, they have amazing flavors, especially the steak, I really recommend it. I wonder what goes into the marinade?

We had very limited time but somehow managed to travel to Napa valley and had a wine tasting in a very intimate setting with a small group of people. It was quite a wonderful experience and we went home happily with a few bottles of wine.
On our way to breakfast we saw this coffee shop that looked kind of good so when we finished breakfast and headed back to the hotel we stopped for coffee and after that headed for Napa Valley.
Our hotel room was just across the street from mama's but every morning I opened the window and find a huge long line and became very discouraged.  Finally this morning it didn't seem like there was a line so we were really excited about eating there, but of course, it was closed on Mondays.  So I guess we couldn't have everything and so we gladly had dim sum instead, I decided that until next time, I will just think it was not so good :)

visiting Berkeley. This was our last night Spent in San Francisco, and time flew only too fast. We traveled to Berkeley area to have dinner with some of my bf's college friends, and had a look at the Berkeley campus.  The town of Berkeley seemed a lot mellower compare to the streets of North Beach, but I can see this be the perfect college town.
The church from our first picture we could see every morning from our window. When we arrived at San Francisco, parking was a major issue, it took four eyes searching frantically for about 25 minutes to finally have found a space. We didn't bother with moving our luggage and went directly to eat after checking into the hotel. On our way I saw the church lit up at night with a little crescent moon hanging beside it, it was very beautiful, and I thought I could remember that beautiful scene so well that pictures were not needed.

New Year Preparation

I always like to do a bit of preparation at the end of each year to welcome the new year, although this year things were very challenging, I...
