Sometimes people in my life offer such profound disappointments, but other times a simple kind gesture of strangers just completely makes my day.  I suppose the saying is true, things are never as good as it seems and as bad as you think.

I love these red roses, they absolutely brightened up my living room!

Since I have dogs I rarely cook chicken for myself anymore, all the chicken are eaten by my pups, but yesterday I roasted a whole chicken so I have some meat to cook with veggie with for the rest of week, but since I didn't use any onion, my doggies could have a bit too...

Overall it's been a real cozy weekend relaxing with my puppies!

Summer is rolling along and suddenly yesterday I'm seeing Fall decor at the shop already, where did time go?

My boy makes a lot of cute poses but I don't have the opportunity to snatch them all up, how cute is he in this picture?

Another picture of my handmade jewelry... I've been feeling really crafty lately but I think I'm done with these for a short while, next up, maybe I will make a quilt!

The first set of bracelet and necklace that I finished! I love these colorful glass beads, they are so playful, almost like children's jewelry:)

I found the cutest 2 quart crock pot at Target, for a whole $12 bucks. It makes cleaning so much easier and it's the perfect size for one to two people.

In the morning I throw in some random veggie plus a bit of beef pieces, and come home at night to a warm bowl of delicious stew.  What can be better?

I really wanted some colorful glass beads jewelry, but I don't know where to buy them, so I decided to make some myself today.  It's a great way to relax and get my mind off the work stress, I can't wait to show off my finished product!

When American Beauty first came out, my English wasn't good enough to understand any of the dialogue, only the image stuck with me for years and years.  Recently I saw it again after haven't seen it for more than a dozen years, and now the story finally made sense to me.

There they are, two different post-card American families, yet upon closer look, each one of them is utterly disconnected to one another, under the facade of a normal family.  I remember seeing the scene of the family sitting together on the same couch watching tv at night, sharing their lives yet unable to get pass that invisible wall between them.

Unlike the parents, who are not willing to admit they are who they are, the children are a rather stark contrast, they are still capable of connecting with themselves and others.

This tree lined street was the most memorable image that I remembered, in fact in my memory this tree lined street was even more glamorous than it was while I revisited the film.  Back then it seems like the street was leading to a better place, a destination I myself would like to be in somewhere in the future. Now that the future is just here, I am still wondering where that place is.

Umbrellas of Cherbourg is one of my favorite films.  Even though it is a sad story, it still takes me to a dreamier place whenever I feel like being too much weight down by my own reality.

New Year Preparation

I always like to do a bit of preparation at the end of each year to welcome the new year, although this year things were very challenging, I...
