This brooch is so huge I could frame it on the wall as a piece of art!

I found two very beautiful vintage dresses today at my local vintage clothing shop, one is a 50s floral print dress that has a beautiful red lining. The other is a 1930s red velvet dress, I think velvet look just plain during day light, but under night light they can look quite amazing!  Now I wonder where I could wear these dresses to?

I love Dolly Parton movies, I could have them on re-run all day long while doing other stuff around the house, there's something so attractive about a girl who is totally over the top but also smart, strong and basically kick ass in the work force!  I also have a tacky side and am a big fan of her hair, the bigger the better, I mean the lady knows what she want!

With holiday season came a lot of parties and great food, I gladly tagged along to various parties with friends, and it was absolutely awesome to attack the mountain load of free food, in fact, this year the Christmas parties have been so awesome, I didn't even bother to decorate my own house or prepare any holiday meals.

A few more pictures from yesterday when I was hanging out in West Hollywood, sometimes I wish I lived in LA again!

Yesterday was Dita Von Teese's book signing event at the Grove in LA. I decided to make this a half day LA trip and drove out very early in the afternoon in order to beat the crowd, and beating the crowd I sure did, me and some other fans waited a few hours early and we were at the top of the line!  I simply had to go meet her in person since I've been so fascinated by her for quite sometime, the temptation was too great!

Dita was very gracious in person, and very patient mind you the line of fans was quite long.  When I walked up to get my book signed she said she loved my brooch and asked me if it was new or vintage, when I said it was vintage, she jokingly said "wow you are lucky I didn't see it first!"  I was just completely blown away because I chose the brooch hoping she might comment on it, and then she said she has a similar one, we almost started a chit chat about vintage brooches and oh how I could keep talking to her about vintage, but so many people patiently waiting so I took my picture and walked off in a daze.

Outside the bookstore the holiday season was in full swing, I was so happy having met this incredible woman in person and feeling more inspired than ever!

This vintage brooch is one of my favorite out of my small collection, it's a massive 5 inches and dresses up an outfit instantly.

New Year Preparation

I always like to do a bit of preparation at the end of each year to welcome the new year, although this year things were very challenging, I...
