This morning I sent off my father from LAX and I still can't believe a month and half just flew by so quickly. I never thought I would say this but I think I'm really going to miss him now that he's back to China. It was really nice to show him around where I live, he got to see my piano studio, met Bobby and Kelly, visited shops in the neighborhood and met my boyfriend, also tried American cuisine, which to my surprise he actually really liked some of them. I learned to make beds in the morning, and to clean the house, sort of. The first week after he got here I dug out my electronic dictionary, ever since then he's learned the alphabets and several English words and simple sentences, he also memorized a lot of the local streets and directions!  I'm surprised at how quickly he adopts to new environments as I was warned by many people that parents often are not used to the American life style.
I'm also going to miss having sitting down dinners and breakfasts, if I have anything to say about that, I learned a lot more about my father while talking to him over dinner than I did all these years over the telephone. I might go back to my coffee and muffin life soon but at least I'm going to try and cook more often at home from now on:)

For our last Thanks Giving, I spent almost three days reading menus and grocery shopping to prepare a made from scratch Thanks Giving dinner, including thawing and cooking a real turkey and homemade gravy! I ended up cooking with my boyfriend the entire day, by the evening we finally sat down and ate our rather delicious first time homemade Thanks Giving dinner, only just the two of us had to finish an entire table of food. This year we got smarter and ordered from Whole Foods, it was a splendid idea, I must had just spent 15 minutes in the kitchen and the food was pretty good! We bought wine and Gruyere on the side too and cut up the cheese in small pieces and gave a little to Kelly and Bobby, they also got a very long walk during the day to the park, and boiled chicken for Thanks Giving dinner.
I'm really thankful for spending the holiday with my family and boyfriend, and that life has been good to us and blessed us with happiness and health. Kelly and Bobby are not the talkative type but I'm guessing that they were thankful for all the long walk and cheese and chicken that they got today, and hoped there will be more of it in the future.

My father is leaving in about a week or so and I haven't really brought him to the beach yet, so today we drove to Santa Monica and spent half a day there. I lived here during high school so many places hold memories, I decided that I should come here more often.
For lunch we had Lobster risotto and fish, which I liked quite a lot. I think this is something easy enough for me to cook at home.  I also finally found the perfect green parka, but it's getting too dark, maybe tomorrow I will have a picture:)

I love over the top evening gowns, it's a little hard to find occasions to wear them to, especially if you work from home and go to school in jeans and sneakers like me, but for a concert maybe?

in two and half days I practiced about 26 hours, the result was a intense fever and a excruciating back pain. By noon yesterday I barely drove myself home and collapsed into bed. After that I serious couldn't get up and pour myself an orange juice.  All I had to ask myself was, what the hell was I thinking back when I finished high school and decided to become a musician?

I know it isn't summer, but I'm loving the idea of a little drawstring bag!

A day that was supposed to be dedicated to hard work turned into a full load of fun. It was a last minute plan but my family decided to go window shopping for houses. I think I saw my dream home, no not the fancy kind but the kind you would call a "home sweet home," and simply seeing it really made my day. And then some more window shopping for fancy purses, I didn't buy anything but left a mental note to myself: must have coral chanel bag, um, someday! :)

Once in a while I go to my local bakery and buy a cupcake, I never walk out of there with just one cupcake though. Today I got chocolate cupcake, cheese cake and cream horn, but then there's this chocolate bun which just came fresh out of the kitchen so I had to get it. All the while I drove home my car smelt of sweet warmed honey, Christmas trees are being sold on the street corner and the sun feels warm on my skin, at the moment life is pretty sweet!
I get up very early on Saturday mornings even though I don't work until 9 am. Someday I'd like to stop working on Saturdays, and just sleep in:)

New Year Preparation

I always like to do a bit of preparation at the end of each year to welcome the new year, although this year things were very challenging, I...
