Morning Routine and Building Good Habits

I spent the last week trying to get back to a normal work schedule and slowly trying to fit everything back in a day.  It became obvious that a little new adjustment is needed as I've spent two months doing hardly anything at all and I really needed to put things back in shape including my health and my business.

For the past few days I have been trying a new rule that seems to be working quite well and has been helping me to get the day through with less stress.

New Rule: No cell phone until I've completed my morning routine.

Recently, a lot of mornings I'd wake up bright and early ready to go, but instead I got dragged down this social media rabbit hole and next thing I know, it's 8am and I'm just late for everything.  My new rule is that I'm not reaching for the phone until I get done with all my morning routine.  As soon as I'm up, I head directly to my living room and do my morning exercise.  I find that when I get all my morning routine done bright and early, my day just starts so much better and I feel confident and relaxed by the time I talk to my first client in the morning.

What's in my morning routine?
  • Drink a large glass of water
  • Positive affirmations
  • 15 mins of yoga
  • 30 minutes of Chloe Ting workout
  • Make a green smoothie and pack a water bottle
  • Take supplements
  • Walk two puppies
  • Shower and get ready for the day

Ideally, all my morning routine is done by 8am, I block out three hours in the morning from the time I wake up to the time I'm ready to start working to make sure everything is done and I don't have to worry about not having enough time to get to all of them.  These steps are super super important as it helps me to stay healthy so I can live my life optimally.  Things like walking my puppies are just such important part of their day that enhance their quality of life, and it's really not something I want them to miss out on no matter what I'm doing with my day.

I find that small actions whether positive or negative, really contribute to huge changes in my life over a period of time, it's so crucial to make good choices and build good habits on a daily basis.  Since I had just recovered from being sick, it's quite obvious that if I just exercised daily consistently, soon I will start to feel a lot better and happier.  As my energy level slowly returned, I'm just getting more and more enthusiastic about getting back my health and live with better quality of life again.
