I don't know what world Bobby was from but where ever he had been he was not trained to walk on a leash. Kelly never had this problem, she naturally was just the best dog in the world, but, Bobby always pulled like a manic when I try to walk him, that was two dogs at once pulling their leashes at different directions, with several times a day he'd yank the leash out of my hand and chase after a cat or a squirl, directly across the street, with cars coming right at him, and so I decided to ask the internet for help. After reading a few articles on how to train puppy on a leash, we set out for practice.
It amazed me so much that all it took was a 20 minute session with me and him stop walking together when he pulled and constantly praising him when he did good, and now he is like a totally different dog. I can't believe how much he is willing to please me and try to do what I want him to do, and how smart he really is if I take the time to teach him. Once again, the internet has saved our lives, I feel so good that my little doggy is finally learning to behave!

Christmas is done! We opened gifts in the morning, cooked a big meal and I have just cleaned the last dish out of the sink and people are happily slipping into a giant food coma all around me. I went a little over board with the cooking and splurged on wine and sugar and butter and cheese. I figure for once a year I don't want to think about calories at all and I want to get a fix on all my cravings. The potato dish was delicious, so was the apple baked pork tenderloin, I must write out the recipe sometimes!

I had a short trip to St. Louis to meet my boyfriend's family for early Christmas celebration, since I do not have a extensive family here in the U.S., it was quite fun to be in big family parties. It was also my first time ever to be in the Mid West, it's definitely a lot different than Southern California. I looked at the flocks of birds flying on the sky and dogs that got to run around free in the farm, cute houses spread far apart, trees everywhere, snowflakes in the morning, and dreamed about living here. Sure I could be a piano teacher there again and make a living! But as soon as I got off the airport I realized that I was thrilled to be home. Chinese food for dinner tonight, and tomorrow I'm going to my favorite coffee shop for a latte and maybe some catch up with piano practice and chat with friends. yum!

I'm way too jealous of girls who wear size 8 shoes, these are beautiful and I want them, but too big for me:(

Last night I finished my exam, all this time of whining and complaining about having to read and study, but now that's it's done I'm going to really miss all of it. Learning African dance, playing with curious instruments all over the world, talking about Chinese music, interviewing musicians and writing about Indian music was not easy, but what an experience!
Sometimes a seemingly incredibly dull and boring read can open up a entirely different perspective. Indian music for example, the discovery of it for me was like a person who had spent her life on land had all of a sudden discovered the ocean, and wondered what was beneath it and what was on the other end. It's moments like these that continue to make life interesting, it makes one hopeful to know that there are more discoveries and realizations in life than what simply meets the eye.

Happy Monday again! I'm beginning to get into the Christmas mood, and I want to bake cookies and think about Christmas dinner and Christmas trees. This weekend I did some holiday shopping. I especially enjoyed buying gifts at Prada, champagne was served at the boutique while you shop, how classy! BUT! The combination of eye candies and alcohol is not good for your wallet, I only bought a bottle of perfume, but it was fun!

If you happen to be in the Irvine area and searching for a Indian restaurant, go to Annapoora on Culver Dr. The food was amazing! Since my boyfriend and I wanted to try everything we ordered way more than we could eat, but everything was super delicious! Have I mentioned that good food always put me into a good mood?
I also saw a shooting star while driving on the freeway tonight, it slit across the sky and quickly disappeared. I made a wish but I'm not telling what it is!

I was at Ruth's Chris last night, the wait was 45 minutes long without a reservation, luckily there was a couple of spots at the bar counter so we were able to sit down without any hassle. Little incidents like this really make the wine and food extra tasty. I don't always go out on Friday nights, but sometimes it's just nice to sit down and let the wine relax you and listen to the tinkling noise of ice hitting the glasses and people laughing and talking around you.

We are having some pretty fantastic weather here, and hallelujah I finished my paper, at least the big writing chunk of it. Now all that's left to do is the final, and then my recital, and then I will finally be properly clothed as a civilized monkey with a college degree.
After all these days of absolute dreadfulness I decided to stuff myself with a lot of food, and took Kelly and Bobby with me for the ride. They got to eat chips and left over beef from my plate, and we took a long walk near the restaurant. Bobby is generally a trusting dog, except when it comes to car rides or going into unknown buildings such as the pet store or the vet, he would cling to the tile floor with his claws and refuse to go inside. I thought he slightly suspect that I was going to drop him off to the pound, after all he has chewed enough expensive handbags and shoes for me to kill him, but how would you feel if you were left to die in the cold just because you couldn't resisted the urge to chew a pair of glasses or a bag? It's not like the thought never entered my mind, but I thought about it a few times and decided that I like him too much to let him go. Had I dropped him off at a animal shelter, I'd sure be on my way to pick him up a couple hours later. When I got him from the animal shelter I wanted to give a little dog some fresh air and sunshine on his back, now with some effort we are doing just that, so I think it's really worth it.

It felt like school has just started and suddenly I'm at the last week racing against time trying to meet deadlines that could choke me to death. I decided that after next week I'm going to treat myself to some major gym time and relax in sauna and take Kelly and Bobby for treat shopping and trips to the dog park, I'm also going to reward myself with a new pair of shoes, the paper that I'm writing has made me cringe my teeth so much that I need tons of rewards to get me going!
