Shoes are usually a weakness of mine... I bought this pair of Roger Vivier shoes last year in Paris. Can't believe almost a year has flew by! The price tag of designer shoes are so ghastly and you will never get your money back if you ever plan to re-sell them, but I justify it by thinking that I really don't have THAT many shoes ( a lie) and I will wear them forever, ( I have to, kind of!) so it's ok, right?

I saw Uptown Girls by myself in the theatre back in 2003 when it first came out.  I think I will always have a bit of Molly in me, somewhat refusing to grow up and just a little bit of a mess, which is fine! Which movie character do you relate the most with?

First, I found a baby polar bear in my bedroom.

but then she quickly disappeared, oh no, where did she go?

oh wait, I think I found something...

ah I see, there she is!

My dogs bark at 5 pm like a clock work! May the bark be with you:)

It's getting warmer here in Southern California.  Just yesterday I saw a little dog left in a car baking under the sun. I sat in my car to wait and see if the owner will come out, luckily it wasn't too long before an elderly couple walked out of the grocery store. I think this is a good time to send a reminder to friends and family to not leave their pets in car while running errands!

I finally found a local powder coating shop that would do the century old sink for me, this is after I had searched high and low for about a year. After this one I doubt the owner will ever take on another sink again. It's not perfect, and it's not porcelain, but it's way better than a fancy paint job, so it's as good as it's gonna get.

I used to hear a lot of stories about antique sink restoration successes, in reality, you are much much better off with just finding an antique sink in perfect condition. I've suffered long enough on this, I know!

Anyhow I've come through this far, can't go back now! The next thing is to order the fixtures. You just wait, I will bet ten dollars on myself that when I get all things together and spent a pretty penny on fixtures that the plumber is going to tell me that nothing fits, and the sink can't be used. I will deal with it when I cross that bridge. For now, I've got a sink!

Oh, and it's dog approved!

I'm taking out this perfectly functioning sink and putting in a 100 year old junk, I must be losing my mind, oh well.

The second part of my ceiling shade also has arrived from Rejuvenation. So for now I've got a few things hanging around waiting to be installed. The guest bathroom is just begging for a make over, right?

After an exceedingly stressful couple of weeks, I found myself this morning relaxing at home drinking coffee with buttered toast while my cleaning lady telling me some of her amazing real ghost stories. Happy Friday indeed!

A few nights ago I got a tiny dog bed just big enough for Kelly, however, it's not working out so well for Uggie...

I've been pretty busy lately and my doggies have been living off dog food for months. I still do give them fresh food from time to time though. Today I got some plain chicken breasts and they wolfed them down!

Ok, we are in food coma, time to take a nap in the fairy garden. zzzzzzz

My first animal rescue volunteering turned out disastrously. After spending nine hours, me and another volunteer dropped off one of two dogs at a animal trainer in Temecula. This was a last minute rescue as the pup was suppose to be put down. A day later the pup escaped. The animal rescue made a massive search but could not catch her. Last night we got the news that it had ran in front of a car and died.

I took this picture after she got in my car the day we rescued her. She was such a sweet pup, very big and very shut down from the shelter experience. It just plain broke my heart thinking how many people cared for her and if only she hadn't escaped the trainer's home, she could've found a loving family and lived out a great life.  RIP Starburst!

A Fairy Garden Update!

My fairy gardens are doing a whole lot better since I moved back home and no longer have to schedule a time to water my plants. It's so nice to get my backyard back!

This Chinese elm tree became a ball of mess after neglecting it for months, I just noticed today that it really needed a hair cut, as usual, I'm never smart enough to remember take "before" pictures. The wooden box it's in is falling apart, I will have to re-pot the tree when I have a moment!

Fairy holding a kitten.

This pink serissa is my absolute favorite tree. It is very happy right now and blooming lots of pink flowers.

Another view of my tree. I wonder how it will look in a few years?

Fie Fie discovered that I placed my own stuffed bunny on my book shelf, he had been crying for it, looking at me and then the bunny for a couple of days. Since I couldn't give him my bunny, my hubby and I picked up this one at the grocery store.

Of course I had to make it seem special by placing it at another high place.

Yes he got it soon after, but I've no picture:)

Kelly was on top of three beds stacked together, what does it remind you of?

I think Princess and the Pea.

9 hours of driving yesterday, I helped a rescue group to pull this pup from his last minute of ill fate. It was my first time seeing animal rescue volunteers at work, what they do is amazing!

Also today I got this beautiful surprise from my hubby! Yes I love flower:)

We are barely moved in, but my mind has wondered off to projects for other parts of our house already.  A few easy projects would be continuing to change out the remaining few lights in my house.

A while ago I purchased a pair of these chandelier sconces for my office. They were purchased online and shipped to me from France.  A few weeks later I discovered this chandelier all covered in dust hanging in an antique shop near my house. The owner told me he imported this himself along with a container load of European antiques a few years back.

It's a bit difficult to tell from a shaky picture, but it's pretty much a match with my wall sconces.  What are the chances? I had to buy it because something tells me that this kind of good luck doesn't come around very often.

Yesterday I had it sent in to be rewired and cleaned.  I will have it back in a few weeks and hopefully have it hung up by an electrician. Sometimes it's truly a pain to have these old things polished up into working order, but that hasn't stopped me from buying them... yet. Friday for instance, I spent most of day driving around to find a good enough place to work on this chandelier, and I haven't even begin the next thing down my to do list. It was kind of fun though to hear the crystals tingling in the car while I was driving.

While I was at the lighting restoration shop, I picked up this antique cased glass shade. It might have been a shade for a bridge lamp, but I intend to find a fitter for it and install it in my guest bathroom ceiling. It's such a beautiful and unusual piece, every time I see it, it makes me smile!

New Year Preparation

I always like to do a bit of preparation at the end of each year to welcome the new year, although this year things were very challenging, I...
