I bought new toys and bedding for my doggies, but Fie Fie is hovering over all of them!  He go nuts over new squeaky toys, we have a truck load of old toys but he gets tired of the old ones!

Cooked up a storm for my pups tonight.

After which followed by a mandatory massage!

I have been tackling small projects around the house since my brain is starting to function again after almost four weeks of being sick.

One of the things that I wanted to do was to paint my coffee table. I purchased this mirror coffee table from Horchow a couple years back, it had great bones but that yellowish cream paint was bothering me big time.  It made everything around it looked depressing and drab!

Finally I decided to see what I could do about it and I found a few small tubes of Martha Stuart paint in metallic or pearl at the craft store.  I bought 4 colors to take home and experiment with since they were only 3 bucks each.

A few coats of paint later, I now have a beautiful, and HAPPY, coffee table!  The paint is a pearl cream white color that I mixed myself, and since it's not meant to look perfect, I'm ok with little painting mishaps!

Trying to tidy up the house with the help of Kelly.
P.S. Kelly is not much help;(

I think this is possibly my dream bed, if there is such a thing.  I better get back to work so I can afford such luxury!

It occurred to me that I consume a large amount of Asian noodles of all kinds on a almost daily basis.   It might be kind of fun to compile all the different kinds of noodle dish that I like on a blog post!

One thing that tops the list is the cold soba, I seek them out no matter how far the restaurants are located!  They are refreshing and nutritious on a hot summer day,  if available I also ask for shaved yam added to the broth, it's very slimy, in a super delicious kind of way!

Another type is the Japanese ramen, there are so many different kinds out there, but I don't discriminate, I pretty much love them all!

I haven't been too much a fan of Udon, but sometimes there are restaurants that make them fresh in house, which is always a novelty.  If I happen to be near by such kind of restaurants, I never pass them up!

The pictured noodle is spicy cold Korean buckwheat noodle.  If I'm correct I believe this is a northern Korean dish, since I'm from Northern China, I discovered that I've actually grew up with many Korean dishes, such as kimchi, and I've had this kind of Korean cold noodle quite a bit since I was a little kid.  It's possibly one of my first favorite noodle ever!

This one is Chinese beef noodle, it's super cheap and delicious to eat at restaurant but the process would take so long at home that I've never learned how to make these.

Last but not least, my own homemade invention.  I once discovered a kind of black rice noodle at a small Chinese grocery store, and I've been making these a few times every summer.  The noodle is somewhat translucent and the dish is packed with fresh raw vegetable. With Summer coming soon, I think I better make a trip to that Chinese market again soon!

I'm still loving my ceramic bunnies!

I'm just about now started catching up on chores that's suppose to be done a month ago.

I brought this bug with me to work and she brought me luck!

A few days ago a coworker treated me to eat Chinese hotpot, I got hooked and went back for three days in a row!

I ordered this arm chair online and it arrived very quickly. To save on shipping cost I asked the chair to be delivered to the store and picked it up from there. The sales associate helped me load it at the back of my car, while an awesome neighbor lady and me dragged this thing into the living room.  It's so comfortable I closed all the doors that kept out the dogs and sat in it and quickly took a nap!

I met this bird while making copies at a copy shop.  Apparently he's the boss around here and greets every customer with a loud and sharp hello.  He turned a lot of tricks for me while I was there, whistled at me, did a full on dance, sang a beautiful song and said bye bye five times when I was leaving. The girl that worked there said this was a unusual treatment from him because he's usually very quiet.  I'm always so happy when little animals show some affection towards me, these are such precious moments!

I found these brand new Repetto shoes in my closet while reorganizing my shoes, what a pleasant surprise! I purchased these in Paris the last time I was there in 2013, it sure brought back memories!

Paris was not my only destination as I also visited country areas and small towns. I had a lot of great food and wine, and even a helicopter ride over looking the vineyards.

Of course I snuk in some good quality time shopping and sitting alone at Parisian cafe people watching and day dreaming.

Finally things are getting back to normal, back to walking my fur babies in the morning, doing chores, working, and just having a good amount of energy to live and enjoy my life. Sometimes I take the ability to do that for granted, but what a blessing it really is!

As the result of being sick in bed for almost a week and the weather hitting the 90s all week, half of my beloved fairy gardens died.  I've got no energy to clean up the massacre left outside, in the meanwhile my fluffy bears only got kibbles to nibbling on all week, they got no walks at all and just cooped up in the stuffy bedroom with me day and night.  It's been such a difficult week since I did not have energy to do basic chores, I could not even take care of my doggies properly!  Finally by the afternoon I dragged myself out of bed and washed my car and did a few other errands... oh well, I hope better days are ahead and hopefully I will soon be out of this rough patch!

This was a bad week with me being terribly sick, the weather being dry and hot, and all sorts of deadlines were just piling on top of one another.  Weeks like this makes me feel like life is a bus determined to run me over.

Came the evening I finally got out of bed and ordered a sandwich and coffee at my local dinner, despite traffic racing through right out on the street, the diner was pretty quiet at peak dinner time, the weather cooled down and I finally gained a bit of upper hand wrestling with my fever and strap throat.  I like this time of day, and eating alone with a couple of lonesome diners at the counter in a quiet place like this makes me feel like I'm some sort of traveler on the road, away from all the daily grind.

New Year Preparation

I always like to do a bit of preparation at the end of each year to welcome the new year, although this year things were very challenging, I...
