My little vintage musical compact from the private collection of Dita Von Teese. It wasn't easy to record with one hand and trying to open the compact with another but I somehow did it!

I got knocked out by a cold for the whole weekend, so I canceled all the work appointments and slept pretty much two days and two nights. It seemed that I just completely lost time, waking up at weird hours like 1pm or 9pm for some food and water and then headed straight back to bed! Apparently that was what I needed, after some solid good rest and actual nutritional food, I felt so much better.
Eating healthy really does it for me, I mean, one or two meals of healthy leafy greens and I immediately feel it in my system, and sometimes I go by for weeks without freshly prepared food, perhaps I should take this as a warning and start taking better care of myself. After all, what do we have if we don't have health?

It'd been a while since I bought a new lipstick, mainly because I was happy with what I had. My go to colors had been Ruby Woo and Russian Red from MAC and Harlow Red from Bobbi Brown, during warmer days I love the Chanel Rouge Allure lip gloss, it was the best lip gloss I've discovered so far! But I was walking around department stores yesterday and decided to see what's new this year. I purchased a new one called Red Rock from the same line of MAC lipsticks and now I'm also waiting for the holiday collection to come out in a week or so!
It's really hard to describe the power of a small tube of lipstick, while other luxuries in life are harder to come by, nearly anyone can get their hands on a great lip color, be it the Revlon Fire and Ice for under $4.49 or a slightly more expensive brand for $30, it's a small reminder that life is more than the mundane, that something more exciting could be just around the corner. After all, one could be walking down the streets of Paris rocking a gorgeous red lip! Or like the vintage advertisement depicted below, tempting the devil with a little red nail and red lipstick!

I spent yesterday hanging around in LA, I visited a coffee shop and sat down for some lemonade and waffle. The bar happened to have some actual news papers, which was quite nice. When was the last time anyone read the news on paper? It felt really nice! A small luxury indeed! This made me do a search to see if the major news outlets still deliver papers, in fact they do, and I think I might just subscribe to it!
I also visited Unique-Vintage in Burbank, this was my first time in the store and I loved it! They had some horror flick sound track playing in the back ground and Halloween themed dresses. I was more interested in just the vintage style clothing. Since I had to work in business setting I wanted something that could pass off as office wear. I found a few dresses that I liked, the most amazing part was that the material felt like real vintage fabric made back in the day, not flimsy at all! If you haven't been to the shop I highly recommend it!

I found this picture of Kelly from 6 years ago. I remember around that time she was just recovering from the trauma of being on the streets and her flaming red belly was getting to a normal color and all the matted hair that was shaved off had begun to grow back. She also started barking and playing, usually after a dinner of chicken leg and kibble we would play catch under and around my piano.
This is also when I became a dog food hobbyist and started reading article and books on all sorts of dog food recipes.
Now a days she is a sophisticated dog lady who enjoys napping all day long, an hour of barking at 5:30pm sharp, is a connoisseur of chicken jerky, and has a relentless passion for fine cuisine.
With Halloween approaching, I felt obligated to decorate my house, but with everything else that must be done I simply did not have that much energy to be directed toward decorating. I did haul out my old pumpkin lamps and spider string light, and that is about as far as I will go this year... maybe.

I always like to do a bit of preparation at the end of each year to welcome the new year, although this year things were very challenging, I...
